BCG is very well studied, safe, and widely used, just not in the United States. There should be no downside to immunizing non-infected adults and children for prevention. Not for treatment of course.

Anakinra, that is being used at BMC, is not in treatment guidelines and protocols in Boston. Comments?
I lead a conference call with Health and Human Services this morning. There was a strong consensus to NOT use any cytokine inhibitors. Compared to other diseases, the cytokine levels are very low, so not really a cytokine storm.
Anakinra and Tocilizumab use is not part of strict clinical trial. They are being used as part of observational data from other centers. To date, we think we have good results. Although no control
