Space to be fully human and free! My God, don’t we need more of that today. With all of the ways others are trying to restrict, minimize and diminish others, creating space for others to be free is radical!

Mary Elizabeth helps to do what so many in theological education or pedagogy in general are not able to do - she truly and authentically holds simultaneously rigorous scholarship and real relationship. It is rare and sorely needed.

I will be interested in seeing you flesh out this image of the river. Sometimes a river flows smoothly and helpfully, but sometimes it floods. Some floods are violent and destructive; others, like the Nile, provide growth and fertility. And, sometimes, the river is used to carry flatboats filled with captives on the Trail of Tears. There is much to explore here.
