Re Paper 1: both organizational control theory and accounting control theory have always looked at both input processes and outputs. So are you saying we need to apply control theory to machine learning?

Please feel free to post questions also to the authors of the AI orientation paper. The Q&A box allows us to temporally separate presentation from Q&A, which is very useful.

Also, please allow me to excuse Nick who had to dash off to a faculty meeting. The one thing more important than a MISQ showcase event!

Hi Mike! My lab should be coming to Boston in Dec-January and stay for about a month. Normally there’s also a shorter visit in early Nov but doesn’t seem like it this year

Dear all, my apologies but I will need to leave because my teaching commences in one minute. Sorry for missing the final ten minutes. I want to thank everyone here, authors, reviewers, listeners, and editors - for all their work for the special issue and for making this a great showcase. I am very honoured that I could participate and work with everyone over these past two years. Today, it was great to engage with everyone and it is nice to spend time together, albeit only digitally. Take care, stay safe and well.

Is there an assumption that ML is learning independently from humans and directly from the environment (e.g., unsuperivised)? This was not the case in our study. I wonder which contexts this assumption applies to and which ones it does not. (Sorry, I am not allowed to post on Q&A as a panelist)
